Fan insists Semin just needs the right environment to succeed

CALGARY, AB – Upon hearing that Alex Semin had been waived by the Montreal Canadiens, local hockey fan Dan Dwyer suggested to his buddies that the forward only needs the right environment to get back to his game.

The Flames fan told his friends on Monday evening that he would be an ideal fit on the Calgary roster alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan.

"I'm not saying he'd be the second coming, but all he needs are some good line mates who can cover for his defensive mistakes, and someone to set up that wicked shot of his," Dwyer insisted between sips of his beer.

"You see what he did in Washington with that wrister...all we need is 50 percent of that and we make it to the second round of the playoffs."

It is being reported by people within earshot of the table that most of his friends went quiet and mumbled things like "yeah, maybe" when he made the announcement, before taking a keen interest in a nearby TV showing a curling tournament.
