PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Thursday, the media announced that Jake Voracek had signed an eight-year, $66 million contract extension with the Flyers after team personnel forgot the details of the deal.

Speculation was rampant on Twitter about whether the team had a policy of leaving every single important detail out of the press release, or if they simply forgot what the details were.

"Some people asked me if it was some deliberate move on our part," general manager Ron Hextall said after the deal was announced.

"But I'll tell you with my hand on my heart that we simply forgot."

"Running a hockey team is hard, and there are many moving parts. I could tell you the type of hair spray that Claude (Giroux) uses, but this one slipped my mind."

In the press release, the team proudly announced that Voracek played a forward position and was born in a country across the Atlantic Ocean.
