SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon has confirmed that forward Jaromir Jagr has successfully undergone his annual parts inspection and oil change.

"Jaromir's mechanic has reported that he is in excellent condition," Tallon said.

"He is ready for yet another rigorous season of hockey, and barring any crossed wires or blown fuses, should be able to compete for us next season as well."

Teammate Aleksander Barkov expressed his delight at the news of Jagr's passed inspection.

"There was never really any doubt from those of us in the locker room that his pistons were all still firing normally," he said. "It's great to hear that the old guy will be ready to add a few more thousand miles to the odometer."

Despite his age, the insurance premiums on Jagr did not increase going into this season. It is believed that the mechanic gave the team a good deal for the privilege of working on such an "old beauty".

The 43-year-old will play in his 22nd NHL season this year.
