NEW YORK, NY – Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello reportedly had a group of journalists at his locker in absolute stitches after telling a pretty run-of-the-mill joke on Sunday morning.
The forward was being interviewed by approximately ten members of the media when he smirked and said something kind of funny. The laughs were heard as far away as the entrance to the locker room.
One journalist who was entering the room at the time of delivery assumed it was a great one, so started chuckling to himself as he approached the scrum.
"They were all howling," he said. "I couldn't hear most of it, but I'm not going to have anyone else thinking I missed out on that beauty."
"What a classic."
When one of the journalists present was asked what was said, she admitted that the moment had passed and she probably wouldn't do it justice, anyway.
"It was definitely one of those 'you had to be there' moments," she said. "What a funny guy, though. It's nice to know that they are really human, you know?"
A number of Zuccarello's teammates confirmed that he is a pretty normal guy who likes to laugh every now and then.
"He's certainly one of the guys on our team that gets involved with the pranks and jokes," Derek Stepan said. "It's great having him around to help lift the guys when things get a little serious in the room."
