Johnny Gaudreau out indefinitely with bad ouchie

CALGARY, AB – Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau is set to miss a few weeks after sustaining a really bad ouchie against Minnesota last night, his mother Jane said on Wednesday.

The Flames' leading scorer was slashed numerous times by the "mean boys on the other team" and had to leave the game in the third period.

"These other boys are a lot bigger than Johnny and I think the referees need to sort it out," Jane Gaudreau said after dropping her son off at the Alberta Children's Hospital.

"If they don't, I'll go down to their locker room and give them a piece of my mind."

Her son was reportedly calm and happy before being wheeled into the operating theatre.

"We gave him his favourite lollipop and told him that before he knew it, his finger would be all fixed up again," Dr. Drew Solomon said following the procedure.

"It's a very straight forward operation to repair a broken finger, but some of our patients do get a little scared when they see all the big adults in masks and gloves. Johnny was a very brave boy, and we're happy with how everything went."

It is understood that the left winger will be on a diet of chicken soup, his favourite chocolate milk, and the Cartoon Network until he is cleared to play again by Flames doctors.
