NEWARK, NJ – Despite his best efforts, recent Devils acquisition Taylor Hall will be wearing New Jersey red and black when training camp opens next month.

According to sources within the New Jersey organization, the ex-Oiler made a request to the team earlier this month to attend training camp wearing Edmonton gear.

GM Ray Shero and his team broke the news to Hall during a mammoth three hour-long meeting on Thursday afternoon. Sources present indicated that Shero played Let It Go from the movie Frozen multiple times to illustrate his point.

The Calgary native was later found sobbing in his favourite Oilers pyjamas on the bathroom floor by teammate Kyle Palmieri.

"I usually see him like once or twice a day, and always with those big dark circles around his eyes as if he's been crying non-stop," Palmieri said.

"Last week all I heard out of his bedroom was Adele's Someone Like You. He's really bringing the vibe of the place down."

It is understood that Hall has spent the last two months liking every single tweet and Facebook post published by the Oilers dating back to 2010 – the year he was drafted by the team.
