SAN JOSE, CA – The San Jose Sharks today announced that they will be wearing a jersey patch this season to honour the first successful playoff campaign in franchise history.

Despite losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Penguins in six games, the Sharks believe their road to the Finals is worthy of some serious recognition league-wide.

Team spokesman Larry Fitch spoke exclusively to The Elbow and said that the team had some surprises in store for Sharks fans.

"This season is going to be one long party celebrating the team's performance through three rounds of the playoffs," he said. "Do you know that back in the day, teams only had to win three rounds to win the Cup?"

"The fans are going to be have a great time remembering the season that was."

The design of the patch will reportedly be simple, with text that reads: "2015/16 – Never Better".

The patch will be revealed on October 12, prior to the Sharks' banner raising ceremony ahead of the home opener against Los Angeles.
