QUEBEC CITY, QC – Speaking at a press conference today, commissioner Gary Bettman promised fans of the Hurricanes that their team’s future was safe in Quebec City.

With the impending sale of the team, many fans had expressed concern over whether or not they would be on the move once again.

"We understand the worries of fans surrounding the team's future, however I can assure everyone that this team is staying right here where it belongs," he said.

"We have great support in this city, and now a strong ownership group that is fully committed to keeping the Hurricanes here."

Fans in the province's capital celebrated the news of the sale, saying they were more confident about the team's future than any time in the past 20 years.
