MINNEAPOLIS, MN – After reaching career highs with the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild this season, the mumps is hoping to get moved to a team in the eastern conference before tomorrow's trade deadline.
Despite saying its number one preference would be to play alongside Sidney Crosby again, it said that it would accept a role on any team with a hope of making the playoffs.
"This is an exciting time for the disease," the mumps said on Tuesday. "Most people think I'm past my prime, but this season has shown that there's still plenty left in the tank."
"I was able to post career highs in Anaheim and Minnesota a few years ago, and I think I showed great promise out east. It'd be great to head back there and take care of some unfinished business."
The mumps has spent the last few seasons in the minors after bursting onto the scene in its rookie season.
The viral disease was recalled to the Canucks from AHL affiliate Utica Comets just under a month ago before being traded to Minnesota.
