BOSTON, MA – Bruins head coach Claude Julien was fired on Tuesday morning, after being unable to make up for a slew of poor trades and signings, general manager Don Sweeney said.

According to the Bruins' boss, Julien lacked the astronomical skill and coaching talent required to overcome some of his own abhorrent misgivings.

"The truth of the matter is that a coach and general manager have to understand each other and work together towards a specific goal," Sweeney told reporters. "In our case, that coach needs to be able overcome my dearth of talent and complete ineptitude."

"If he can't cover up my own shortcomings and deficiencies, then this isn't going to work out."

Bruce Cassidy will take over as head coach for the remainder of the year. The decision was made after he showed Sweeney a party trick in which he turned water into wine.
