MONTREAL, QC – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) today announced that it has issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Montreal Canadiens defenceman Shea Weber.

The veteran blueliner is wanted for a spate of recent attacks on men, all in the 18-35 age range, who have suffered serious injuries as a result of being caught in the crossfire of a deadly weapon.

All of the victims have declined to speak to the press, but sources say that each of them knew their attacker, with several being close friends with him.

"Mr. Weber has been known to police for a very long time," chief constable Gary Meehan told reporters today. "This has been a decades-long joint investigation, with cooperation from authorities in the United States playing a key part."

"Prior to his move to Canada in the summer – the reason for which is still not understood by us – he was operating out of a building in Nashville, Tennessee."

"He was known to some locals there, but more often than not went completely undetected."
